For Sale 5" Gauge 'Polly' Tender loco This 5" Polly tender engine was built in 1989 by J.G.S.Clarke of Denbigh and, again has proved to be a fine "beginner's engine" (particularly liked by women drivers ! ). It has a copper boiler which was last tested some 18 months ago (by Farncare Boilers) but has not been steamed since ( solely due to lack of free time). It was checked and overhauled in 2005, with new gauge glasses, renewed pipework and new tender connections. It was repainted in c.2001 (?). This loco has given much pleasure over the years and would suit someone wanting to acquire a "first" locomotive. We are inviting offers of at least £4,000 for the loco, contact details below. 7.25" Bagnall Narrow Gauge Loco The 7 1/4" Bagnall was built by Cyril Finch of Tiverton and is a nice little runner. It has a full boiler history (steel boiler) which was last tested 18 months ago. We have operated this engine on our railway at home in Devon and she performed well when last steamed in October. You will see that she has, last summer, been fitted with new water gauges (by Trevor Stirland at Exmoor Steam). We are inviting offers of c. £8,000 for the Bagnall. Should any Member be seriously interested to acquire either of these locomotives, I shall be pleased to provide further photos and information. They are presently kept at our track in Devon, but I would be willing to fetch them up for inspection by a prospective purchaser. For Sale Ad. placed 27/08/04 SOLD 7th October 2004 Advertised on behalf of a fellow club member with no internet access- 7.25" Black 5 following 'Highlander' design. HUGE amount of work done already but I cannot complete it as other projects beckon (6" Scale Traction engine!!). There are too many parts to list here, but in brief the loco and tender frames are erected, the new boiler (built to scale, not as drawn for Highlander) is ready to fit. ALL castings (Currently £3000 plus VAT) included. Many parts ready made or machined. All roller bearings included. The total cost new of all this is in the region of £5000 with no work done.
